Bottoms, bottles, breastfeeding and burping. It’s a messy business being small.
At Jack & Jillaroo we’re here to add playfulness, personality and above all practicality to the milestone moments of being little. Throw a bamboo burp cloth over your shoulder whilst you battle for that belch. Pop on a reversible dribble bib to bring style to the business of drooling. Or tuck up your little one in the softest, cosiest organic cotton blanket as you soothe them to sleep.
Handmade by Allison and a small team of sewers, all our products are made to be strong, absorbent and durable – we know this because small people have extensively road-tested them. We’ve lined all our bibs with bamboo towelling due to its excellent ability to absorb moisture – essential when teething starts. Our muslins are breathable, 100% organic cotton for a super-soft feel against your little one’s skin. Organic beeswax and olive oil make our teethers safe to munch on. We know you want the best so we’re here to provide it.
We also understand that this stage of life evokes our own childhood memories – of nursery rhymes, innocence and endless playtime. That’s why our designs are colourful and fun whilst also being classic, timeless and a tiny bit nostalgic. Ginghams, florals, stars, animal prints – just add children and adorability is guaranteed.
Whether you want a beautifully presented gift to welcome a new baby into the world or have your own brood in mind, Jack & Jillaroo is here to start your precious little ones on life’s exciting journey.
The story so far..
Every business has a story to tell and Jack & Jillaroo is no exception.
Allison has the fun job of being head honcho and chief decision-maker. As the descendant of two talented seamstresses, she has long had a love of design which has inspired her career choices.
Originally from New Zealand but resident in the UK for over ten years, Allison started out designing and sewing her own line of women lounge wear. A stroke at the age of 25 left her having to re-learn how to walk and talk and resulted in the permanent loss of function in her left arm. Undeterred and with her creativity intact, she taught herself how to sew one-handed and switched to making smaller, more lightweight baby clothing and accessories which ultimately led her to Jack & Jillaroo.
In a happy twist, Allison had her first baby just in time for Christmas 2017. Little Hope is now the face of Jack & Jillaroo and the main product tester!
